DAVID'S STORY

When the paramedics arrived at the scene of a horrendous car crash, they took one look at the driver, David, and declared him dead. Luckily, while working on his passenger, one of the medics noticed David exhibiting a slight sign of life. He was immediately rushed to the emergency room at Sacred Heart Medical Center where he received 6 units of blood to stabilize him.

During David's subsequent many surgeries to repair his fractured skull, 20 broken bones and other life-threatening injuries, he received another 19 transfusions of different blood components.

He has now fully recovered and has dedicated part of his life to educating high school students about the dangers of drinking and driving. He tows his wrecked car to his speaking engagements on a trailer donated by a local company.
