KELSEA'S STORY
After complaining of leg pain and feeling feverish in June,
1998, 3-1/2 year old Kelsea was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic
leukemia. As she was severely anemic at the time of diagnosis,
she was immediately given a transfusion of red blood cells.
Kelsea had to endure 26 months of chemotherapy. Frequently
during the treatment she suffered various ailments and was
unable to attend kindergarten for much of the time. Throughout
her treatment she continued receiving large numbers of units
of red blood cells.
Kelsea is now in full remission and is a typically active
pre-teen.
